Supreme Court Constitutes Judicial Infrastructure Advisory Committee
The constitution of the committee reflects the Supreme Court’s continuing efforts to address infrastructure-related challenges across the Indian judicial system. The Supreme Court of India has constituted a Judicial Infrastructure Advisory Committee as part of its efforts to promote systematic and effective development of judicial infrastructure in India.
Adequate infrastructure is an important component of an accessible and efficient justice-delivery system. Court buildings, facilities for judges and court staff, litigant amenities, accessibility arrangements, technology infrastructure and other supporting facilities all contribute to the effective functioning of courts.
The formation of the Judicial Infrastructure Advisory Committee provides an institutional mechanism for examining infrastructure-related requirements and facilitating a coordinated approach towards judicial infrastructure.
